Welcome DM on join
Every new member gets a direct message from the bot with your verify link, so nobody has to find the right channel first.
Most new members never make it past the first channel. VaultCord sends each one a welcome DM with your verify link, a reminder if they forget, and gives them the right role the moment they verify.
Your Server BotDirect Message
Your Server BotAPPToday at 6:02 PM
Your Server BotAPPToday at 6:17 PMA greeting says hello. A welcome flow makes sure the new member actually gets in. This is what happens with VaultCord.
They land in your server and can only see #rules and #verify, because the rest of the server is locked to your member role.
With Welcome Message on, VaultCord DMs the new member right away with a link to your verification page.
Set a Reminder Duration and VaultCord sends one more DM after that delay, for the members who got distracted.
Once they pass captcha and your other checks, VaultCord gives your member role, removes the Unverified role and logs the join.
An Unverified role is the simplest way to keep new members in a waiting room. They can read your rules and verify, and nothing else.
When they pass verification, VaultCord gives your member role and removes the Unverified role in the same step, with an audit log entry so staff can see why the roles changed. Members who are pulled back into the server later get their role automatically too.
Because the role is only given after the checks pass, raid accounts and alts never reach your community channels. Learn more on the Discord verification bot page.
Every new member gets a direct message from the bot with your verify link, so nobody has to find the right channel first.
Choose how long to wait before a reminder DM is sent. Set Reminder Duration to 0 to turn reminders off.
Your member role is given the moment someone verifies, and the Unverified role you choose is removed at the same time.
The message in #verify can include a "Why?" button that explains why your server verifies, and an optional "Just let me in" button.
When you add your own bot, VaultCord creates a private #welcome-to-vaultcord channel with setup steps that only admins can see.
Ping a welcome team role whenever someone verifies, and log every join with account age and country to the channel you choose.
Send members to your rules page, website or a welcome guide right after they verify, or close the tab automatically.
Run VaultCord under your own bot, so welcome DMs come from your server's name and avatar instead of ours.
Raid accounts, alts and known scammers fail verification, so your welcome flow only ever lets real members through.
The best welcome setup is a short path: one place to read the rules, one place to verify, and everything else unlocked after that. The channel list on the right is what an unverified member should see.
Make an Unverified role and a Member role. Members keep Unverified until they pass verification.
Let @everyone see only #rules and #verify. Give the Member role access to every other channel.
In the dashboard General tab, set the Member role as the verified role and pick your Unverified role.
In Alerts, switch on Welcome Message, set a Reminder Duration, then post the verify message with /verify-embed.
Greeting bots and VaultCord do different jobs, and plenty of servers run both: one says hello in public, the other gets members verified.

A welcome bot greets new members and helps them get started. Some post a welcome image in a channel. VaultCord focuses on the steps that turn a join into an active member: a welcome DM with your verify link, a reminder for anyone who has not verified, and the role change once they do.
VaultCord sends welcome messages as DMs rather than posting a greeting card in a channel. If you want a public greeting too, you can run a greeting bot alongside VaultCord.
In the dashboard, open your server's Alerts settings, switch off Welcome Message and set Reminder Duration to 0. New members will no longer get DMs from the bot.
Choose a verified role in the VaultCord dashboard. Members get it automatically as soon as they verify, and if you set an Unverified role, VaultCord removes it at the same moment.
Discord will not deliver the welcome DM, so they will not see it. The verify message in your #verify channel still works, which is why it is worth keeping one there.
Long enough that people who are already verifying are not interrupted, but short enough that they still remember joining. Between 10 and 30 minutes works well for most servers.
Yes. Set up a custom bot in VaultCord and the welcome and reminder DMs are sent from your bot, with your server's name and avatar.
Welcome DMs, reminders, verification and automatic roles are available on the free plan. Join logs, staff pings, redirects and the gateway server are part of Premium and Plus.
Turn on welcome DMs and reminders in a few clicks, and let verification hand out the right roles for you.
