What is a Discord verification bot?
A Discord verification bot keeps new members out of your channels until they pass a check. Simple bots ask members to click a button or react to a message. VaultCord sends members to a verification page where they sign in with Discord, then checks for captcha, alt accounts, VPNs, account age, known scammers and your own firewall rules before giving them a role.
Is VaultCord free?
Yes. The free plan includes the verified role, captcha, minimum account age and scammer blocking. Alt detection, VPN blocking, the firewall, the log channel and member restores beyond the free limits are part of Premium and Plus. See the pricing page for current prices.
How do I set up verification on my Discord server?
Sign up at dash.vaultcord.com, add the bot to your server, pick the role members should receive, and post the verify message. Then hide your channels from @everyone and show them to the verified role. Most servers are set up in a few minutes.
Do I still need Discord's own verification level?
You can keep it on. Discord's levels (low, medium, high and highest) require a verified email, a minimum account age of five minutes, ten minutes in the server, or a verified phone number. They run before VaultCord and are a useful first layer, but they cannot detect alts, VPNs or known scammers.
Can VaultCord do email verification?
Discord already confirms email addresses, and VaultCord reads whether a member's email is verified and whether they use two-factor authentication. With the email domain allowlist, only members whose verified Discord email ends in a domain you choose, such as your school or company, can get the role.
Can members get around alt detection with a VPN?
That is what VPN blocking is for. With both turned on, a banned member who switches to a VPN or a mobile connection is refused before alt detection even runs, and your blocked-events role is pinged so staff can see it.
What data does VaultCord collect when someone verifies?
VaultCord uses Discord's official login, so it never sees passwords. You decide what else is used: you can stop IP addresses from being saved, hide them from logs, and show badges on your verify page saying IPs are not logged and verifications are not sold. Read the privacy policy for the details.
What happens to my verified members if my server is nuked or banned?
Because members authorize VaultCord when they verify, you can add them back to a new server with a member restore, either manually or automatically when VaultCord detects that the server was deleted or raided. If you only want verification, you can turn off the join permission.
Can I use my own bot name and domain?
Yes. You can run verification under your own custom bot with its own name and avatar, and host the verification page on your own domain with your own design.
